The Holy Emperor is the supreme authority in the Holy Empire of Cavlan, reigning by divine right as Head of State, chief lawgiver, and guardian of the nation’s spiritual and civic life. The monarchy is the central institution of the state—both a symbol of national unity and an active seat of leadership.
The Emperor upholds Cavlan’s founding values: faith, empathy, service, and freedom, and governs in accordance with the Most Serene Imperial Charter.
The Holy Emperor, styled His Most Serene Imperial Majesty, serves in the following essential capacities:
Temporal Protector of the Church in Cavlan
As a formal and required duty of the Crown, the Emperor must be a practicing Roman Catholic and is charged with defending the Catholic Church within Cavlan’s realm. This includes protecting its institutions, sacred traditions, and temporal goods, while ensuring the Church may operate freely and without interference. The Emperor supports the Church’s mission in charity, education, and public morality.
Supreme Authority of the Empire
Holds ultimate legal and executive power; grants assent to laws, appoints ministers and officials, and oversees all functions of government.
Symbol of National Unity
Serves as the unifying figure for the Cavlani people across all municipalities, and embodies the continuity of the Empire.
Spiritual Steward
Guides the moral and civic character of the nation in alignment with its Christian heritage and founding principles.
The monarchy is represented by the Imperial Crown, Sceptre, Imperial Banner, and the Coat of Arms, supported by the Red-Tailed Hawk, Cavlan’s national animal.
Succession to the throne is hereditary, but subject to Imperial decree. The Holy Emperor is responsible for raising and preparing heirs in the spirit of justice, humility, and faithful service to the Empire.
Conrad I, Holy Emperor of Cavlan
Conrad I has reigned as Holy Emperor of Cavlan since July 8, 2018, the date of the Empire’s formal declaration and the restoration of sovereign monarchical rule.
As Holy Emperor, he exercises the full constitutional and spiritual duties of the Crown—serving as the supreme authority in Cavlan and fulfilling his required role as Temporal Protector of the Church in Cavlan, safeguarding the Catholic Church within the Empire’s territory.
Though currently residing abroad in service to the United States Armed Forces, His Majesty governs through Imperial Station Abroad “Columbia”, maintaining active oversight of state affairs and preserving the dignity of the Crown.
His reign continues to reflect a firm commitment to Cavlan’s founding values of faith, empathy, service, and freedom, and to the enduring role of the monarchy as a force of unity and purpose
